“Beauty is an inner phenomenon. Beauty is not in objects, not in people, not even in the eyes of the beholder. It lies in the heart of every person” –Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

You Deserve A Glowing Skin!

There is hardly any woman who does not have a desire to have that skin which glows. The benefits are endless: self-confidence, the admiration of others, flaunting the skin, and most importantly, taking care of the largest organ in the body.

Our skin protects our bodies from the environment, maintains body temperature, excretes waste matter, gives sensory information to the brain and regulates body moisture. The skin is a living organ which heals and renews itself constantly – every 28-30 days. It’s the face you present to the world. When healthy, it’s a source of beauty. The choices you make every day — what you eat, where you go, how you feel — affect how your skin looks.

Truth be told, a skin that glows is not an accident; there is conscious continuous effort that yields great rewards. Beauty begins with the proper caring of the skin and a healthy, beautiful skin is possible to achieve. Therefore, there must be the deliberate attempt to bring your best face forward because it has a direct impact on how you are perceived and received wherever you go.

Clear, soft and supple skin is one of the greatest beauty assets. There’s plenty you can do on a day-to-day basis to ensure it always looks as good as possible…

10 Simple Skincare Tips

#1: Love thyself

To love yourself is to love your soul. When you love yourself, you will feel connected with the inner beautiful person that you are inside…this would eventually reflect on the outside. The first law of success says, ‘first within, then without’.

#2: Understand your skin type

Understanding how your skin functions will awaken you to its special needs. There are five basic skin types – oily, normal, dry, combination and sensitive (others include aging or sun-damaged skin and acne prone skin). Know your self!

#3: Practice the beauty formula

Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize – The formula for a great skin (with attention to the face) is CTM. Cleansers remove makeup, facial oils, and grime; Toners provide deep pore cleansing, reduces the size of pores and makes the skin smooth and flawless while prepping it to be moisturized. Moisturizers act as a protective barrier between your skin and the environment. Every skin type should practice observe CTM formula. The kind of products used must be determined by your skin type, age, and peculiar needs.

#4: Exfoliate

The best way to get rid of dead skin cells is through exfoliation. You are sure to deal with issues like blackhead, impurities, dead cells, dirt etc. to reveal a smooth and flawless skin. Natural products like oats, honey, brown sugar, olive oil are sure to do a great job on your skin.

#5: Use sunscreen

90% of wrinkles is from sun exposure. Also, dull skin, rough skin, and an uneven skin tone are related to constant exposure to the sun. It is much easier to prevent the damage than to fix it afterwards. Make sure to look for a formula that offers double protection to guard against UVA rays (the ones that cause premature aging) and UVB rays (one of the main causes of skin cancer). A sunscreen in SPF30 and above is highly recommended. You can get a cream that already contains it or get an SPF30 and above to mix with your cream.

#6: Eat healthy

Everything healthy starts with your diet. Like it is popularly said, ‘You are what you eat’. The more you eat clean, the more your skin will be clean, clear minerals and supple. Consuming the right amount of vitamins and minerals is a guarantee to enjoy beautiful skin. Eat more whole foods, fruits and vegetables, protein, foods rich in omega3 fatty acids like salmon and mackerel. Avoid fried foods and processed food as well as foods high in sugar and sodium (salt)

#7: Drink water

Water helps to purify the skin, cleanses the body, eliminates toxins and waste; also it helps your skin get rid of dryness and wrinkles. It hydrates the body and removes excess oil and dirt. In as little as a week, drinking up to 2 liters will cause you to experience notable changes in the appearance of your skin.

#8: Exercise

Exercises is a sure way to clean the skin from the inside out. Exercises help you breath properly which accelerates the process the cleansing of your entire body (every time you exhale, you get rid of toxins form the body), leaving the skin refreshed and energized providing a glow on your face.

#9: Do not go to bed with makeup

Makeup (or dirt) left on skin for a long period of time does not only clog your pores; it cause excessive dryness, invites acne, pimples and, in some cases, skin dandruff. Research has also shown that makeup left continually (overnight) for a long period of time accelerates aging.

#10: Reduce stress

When we are relaxed (in our resourceful states), pimples, rashes, etc (which are usually stressed-induced) are reduced. Meditation (the more you meditate, the more you radiate) and regular sleep improves the natural secretion of Human Growth Hormone (also known as the ‘Fountain of Youth’) which promotes cell turnover and collagen production.

Glowing flawless skin happens one day at a time as long as you stay committed to lifestyle changes that embrace healthy living and hygienic practices. In as little as 30 days with a better commitment (with a skin care routine), you can definitely put your best face forward.
